Since I'm sure I will lose in the first round (don't necessarily understand the format, so not sure how many games that is), I'm sure I won't have to worry about the tournament lasting a year. :)
but yes, you will, whovian223 ;)
btw congrats on your win in the Lost Cities tourney!

swiss tournament means that all players will play 5 games.

I'm capable of losing 5 games in a couple of months! :)

Is it just me, or is the AI totally weak? Granted, it would be a Herculean task to write a decent AI for this game. And I had the advantage of reading the free strategy guide, that I think Acedout tipped us off to on another post, and I'll repost here because it was so good: https://twilightstrategy.com

But the AI doesn't even make what sounds like the canonical first move of couping Iran. Instead it somehow basically gave me control of two(!) early war continents on the turn1 headline. I def need to play some humans before I get complacent...

Hmm are we playing the same game?
Or am I that bad?

I did have good die rolls that game, for once! And I don't consider myself too good at this yet, but have won 5 in a row against the AI, 4 of them mid-war, even in games when pretty much almost every die roll was the worst possible for me. If you read that strategy guide, including the annotated games, I bet you will crush the AI every time after that... (Spoiler) In the first annotated game the author plays a strong opponent and has the worst luck possible for most of the game, but uses every trick in the book and eventually wins. I'm sure that author would beat me every day of the week and twice on Sunday even if I had perfect die rolls every time.

Is the tourney closed? Didn't see an announcement yet. If there's room for one more, I'm interested in jumping in. I've been practicing my Russian lately. 8-)

I'd love to play in the next tourney. I still need to learn the game.

Yes, I just waded through the tutorial for the first time and got waxed by the Russkies in 3 turns. In my defense, I drew both the ME scoring and Asia scoring cards in the second turn, so I didn't have much chance to dig out of the deficit in the third. More experience definitely needed.

Okay, I am in. I have easy excuse when I succumb to any opponent on turn one.

It's all Jamma's fault.
