Game 7 ends with defcon suicide at the end of the 9th turn.
Snotty128 has emerged victorious over Kolbex.
An incredibly close game. The scores were tied throughout the vast majority of the game. As the USSR I started to gain a board lead in the 8th, which I began to turn into a points lead in the 9th. Wargames had been used for influence by the US and we were certainly heading for final scoring. Kolbex had a shocking hand in the 9th, full of strong Russian cards, which I could see with aldrich ames remix. I can only assume Kolbex underestimated the lone gunman style threat that Ortega posed to the defcon track.
A truly memorable game.
Ugh, yes, I can't believe I didn't spot the danger from that one. This card AND Olympic Games (and actually one other I can't recall at the moment)?! I am tempted to call it a design flaw that there are so many ways to unintentionally throw the game. Anyway, yes, that was a great game, but I absolutely HATE how a completed game is just removed from your list with no fanfare whatsoever, and you have to go looking for it in the completed games list to see how it actually ended.
My other choice, BTW, was Glastnost, which seemed like board suicide to play, but in retrospect would have been better than the actual suicide I ended up tossing out there.
