Having an Old Fashioned this evening, according to Owen's original PT recipe (with a minor tweak or two.)

Add a teaspoon of vanilla infused turbinado sugar to a rocks glass, and mix in a few dashes of bitters (I used Fee Brothers Orange Bitters instead of Angostura) and some tonic water. Then rotate the glass around to coat the sides with the sugar/bitter/water syrup. Then add 2oz bourbon (Bulleit Rye, in this case) and a big ice chunk. Then zest an orange over the top. Stir thoughtfully.

My better half's current Gin masterpiece:

1/2 part lemon juice (or lime if you prefer extra tangy like me)
1 part raspberry gin
1 part berry cordial
1 part violet liqueur
2 -3 parts tonic
